Trail Blazer

We want everyone to be able to follow a race, register for it and run it, including people with disabilities. This statement describes what we have done on trail-blazer.live, what is not yet fully accessible, and how to contact us.
1Accessibility level
The site is built to the Israeli Standard IS 5568, which is based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at level AA, and to the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013. Based on our last review, the site partially conforms: most pages meet the requirements, and some parts are still being worked on (see section 3).
2What we have done
- Hebrew right-to-left and English left-to-right, with the correct language set on each page.
- A clear heading structure, and a "Skip to content" link on the information pages.
- Keyboard navigation, with a clear outline on the element in focus.
- Text descriptions for images that carry information; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Labels on registration form fields and error messages in text, not only in colour.
- Sufficient colour contrast for text and buttons.
- The site adapts to phones, tablets and computers, and supports browser text zoom up to 200%.
- If your device is set to "reduce motion", the home page shows no animations.
- Next to the map there is a text ranking and times table, and each participant has a page with their data.
The site was tested in current Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, on desktop and phone, and with the [NVDA / VoiceOver] screen readers.
3What is not yet fully accessible
- The live map is a graphic element. Participants' positions on the map itself are not fully read out by screen readers. The same information is available in the ranking table and on the participant pages.
- The news screen on the map shows paintings and field photos. Some photos that arrive through the bot don't have a text description yet.
- Map backgrounds come from outside providers, and we don't control their accessibility.
- The organizers' admin pages (control room, simulator, screen management) include complex tables and charts and are still being reviewed and improved.
- Content that organizers and participants upload (photos, logos, routes) is their responsibility.
We keep improving accessibility. If you run into a problem, please contact us and we will help with the information or service in another way.
If something on the site isn't accessible to you, or you have a suggestion, we'd like to hear it. Please tell us which page, what you were trying to do, and which browser and assistive technology you used.
